Teaching Interests:
Innovation & analytics in accounting, accounting information systems (AIS), taxes & business strategies, and financial/managerial accounting.
Over the past eight years, my experiences as an instructor and teaching assistant have shaped both my communicative strategies and approaches to teaching and learning.
Teaching financial/managerial accounting, accounting analytics, accounting information systems, and a tax policy seminar for undergraduate and MBA students, respectively, I assist students in realizing why accounting is the language of business.
My teaching style is a combination of in-depth and interactive discussions in the classroom and constructive and real-world relevant projects outside of it.

Some Selected Comments from Students:
“Dr. Lin is one of the best professors I have had in my time at Rowan so far. He teaches in such a way that is very easy to follow and he shares slides before class to help us if we want to take notes during his lectures. I have never had a professor who was more dedicated to student success.”
“This class is very insightful and expands your knowledge of the fundamentals of business and analytics. Professor Lin is also very easy on students, but passionate as well. He is also up to date on new information that may relate to the course and will make sure you succeed in. this course. 10/10”
“I have never had a teacher/professor who taught like Tony Lin. In the first class we were told to take down his mobile phone number and to text or call at ANYTIME. If we were to text him “Hi Tony, are you free to call?” he jokingly said he’d block us. He wanted us to interrupt in class with questions. We essentially were never causing him an inconvenience. He goes above and beyond to teach us things outside the courses curriculum and genuinely wants us to succeed. He tells us useful information about the job market applying to our major. For example, less accountants are being hired, so he showed us double majors or certifications that can put us ahead of our graduating class when it comes to getting a job post grad. Throughout my remaining years at Rowan, I will take a class with him any chance I can possibly get. He teaches the courses curriculum flawlessly and will not leave the classroom after class until every student’s questions are answers. Words cannot describe how grateful I am to have him as a professor.”
“Professor Lin is definitely one of the best teachers I’ve ever had. As a first year Accounting Major, he really helped me gain new knowledge about my career and other important stuff in the business world. I would definitely recommend taking this class if you are a Finance/Accounting Major and recommend him 100%. He’s the best!“
“Professor has showed me a great first semester, he was very respectful and understanding of everyone. he would always check in with us to make sure we were okay. What really stood out is that he takes out the time to see what we do in a daily basis and talks about outside school activities. makes me want to listen to him more in class and engage.“
“Exceptional teacher and uses real world problems to help you understand.“
“Great instructor, especially since COVID made things so difficult. He helped accommodate the situation and is very fair in terms of assignments given.“
“Professor Lin is such a great professor. He makes himself available as much as he can and cares about his students so much. He is an awesome professor.“
“Best Drexel professor.”
“Class time was taken up with great content furthering our education and preparing for exams!”
“Officially best teacher/class ever if Tony Lin taught every class I had I would be more than happy.”
“Tony was the best teacher I’ve had at Drexel. He cares about us LEARNING the material and not just memorizing or feeling pressured. He makes us feel like if we try to understand, he’ll meet us halfway and everything will be okay. Drexel is hard but I felt okay in his class. There is more than one way to excel in this class and he makes sure of it. I would recommend him to anyone who needs to take ACCT or any other class he teaches. Thank you so much, Tony. I’ve never been good at math-related classes, I’ve failed math and crawled my way through math-related education but you made me feel capable in your class. I wish you all the best in the future.”
“Tony Lin was a phenomenal professor. He really engaged with the class through his teaching style, mutual understanding, humor, and generosity. Professor Lin connected well with everyone in the class and welcomed all and any feedback to improve the class and make better use of our time each week. Review sessions were extremely helpful and prepared the class very well for each exam. It was not hard to realize that Tony wanted every student to do well in Managerial Accounting, and succeed in all aspects of our careers!”
